About Phil

Phil Strasser is a qualified chef

He graduated from Ryde College with an Associate Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management
He graduated from Ultimo TAFE as a chef and he also has trade recognition as a chef

He has the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

He worked for 3 years in chef positions as well as supervisory and assistant management positions in Sydney and Toronto, Canada before setting up his own takeaway shop which he eventually converted into a salad bar in Martin Place. Since then, he operated a takeaway salad bar in North Sydney.

Phil is extremely passionate about food. He loves to cook and create food products for those who love good quality home cooked food. The products (sauces, dressings and marinades) are a testament to his passion and he gains enormous satisfaction in knowing that people have either enjoyed his cooking or his food products.

"I had a very clear reason to bottle my own sauces and dressings. That is to lift an ordinary meal to an extraordinary level. Whether it is to dress a salad, to marinate red or white meat for barbequing or roasting chicken drumsticks, my aim is to give these meals a truly genuine restaurant quality edge".

Phil also understands the needs and demands that are placed on retail food operators. The retailer's menu must stand out not only to survive but to thrive in an ever increasing competitive market. Phil and his team can put their skills, knowledge and industry experience to work to create unique and delicious additions, meals, products ….. Whatever it takes and whatever it is that the retail food operator is looking for to add to their menu – but also making the entire process a simple one! "We work with you to save you time, to ensure that your operation is economical, and more importantly make the menu as simple as possible as well as a pleasure to operate for you and your staff."

In 2011, Phil studied and completed his Certificate IV in Training & Assessment to qualify him to teach and pass on his culinary passion, skill, and knowledge.

Phil teaches part time and through his teachings, his objective is to inform and inspire his clients to prepare, cook, and serve meals to a restaurant quality - yet at a fraction of the restaurant prices, in their own homes. Eating out at restaurants, enjoying the quality food prepared by professionally trained chefs is a luxury and a privilege.

"My aim is to send the message that preparing, cooking, and serving such meals are well within the average home chef's capabilities. It is all about having the skills, knowledge, and confidence to do so."
